If you receive the error message "Unable to initialize data dictionary" Starfish ETL may have insufficient permissions to Saleslogix through IIS.

The way around this is to change the Starfish IIS app Pool Identity users to your "webdll" or "slxservice" user. These are typically the default Saleslogix database users in Windows. To find your Saleslogix Windows user, go to Services and find the "SalesLogix DBEventing" service, and see what is entered in for "Log On As".

Jump over to IIS (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services Manager) browse to your site StarfishEngine, and click "Basic Settings..." At the bottom of the dialogue box change your "Connect as..." user to the same user set up to control access to the SalesLogix Database.
